How IndexCrypto researches, writes, sources, checks and corrects its guides.

IndexCrypto publishes general reference guides. This page explains how they are made, so you can judge how far to rely on them.

How guides are written

Every guide starts from a written brief: the question a reader is trying to answer, the scope of the page, and the facts it is allowed to state. Guides are drafted with the help of AI writing tools working from that brief. We do not present them as the work of a named expert, and no author credentials are claimed on this site.

Sources

Some guides end with a "Sources" list linking the primary sources they rely on - a government body, regulator, standards organisation or the original publisher - and we only list pages we have opened and checked. Guides without that list do not link their sources: their rules and figures are checked before publication against the site's fact sheet where the subject has one, and when a guide names the body behind a rule, that body is the place to confirm it. Where a subject has no public primary source, the guide says what is general practice rather than presenting it as a rule.

Checks before publication

Before a guide is published it passes automated checks: figures and rules compared against the site's fact sheet where the subject has one, claims the site does not make (medical, legal or financial promises, prices it cannot keep current), broken internal links, language and formatting. A separate review pass then reads the page specifically looking for statements it cannot support. A page that fails is corrected or held back, not published as is.

Corrections and updates

Published guides are checked again when the rules or figures they describe change, and factual errors are corrected when they are found. The "Updated" date on a guide changes only when its content changes - never just to make a page look fresh.

What these guides are not

Nothing here is professional advice for your own situation. Where the answer depends on your circumstances - your health, your tax position, your property, your contract - the guide says so, and the right next step is a qualified professional.
